The new winter season 2026/2027 at the Defereggental Hotel & Resort starts on December 19, 2026. Look forward to perfectly groomed slopes, snow-covered mountain landscapes, and relaxing ski days in the Hohe Tauern National Park.

For new guests still something of a hidden gem, and for regular visitors long known as the “Little Canada of the Alps.” In the snow-reliable Hohe Tauern National Park and the idyllic Defereggental valley, winter sports enthusiasts will find everything they could wish for. Sparkling snow, crystal-clear air, and peaceful surroundings… The family-friendly “Skizentrum St. Jakob” ski area offers perfectly prepared pistes, stunning alpine scenery, and virtually no waiting times at the lifts. An added bonus: our ski shuttle takes you directly to the valley station, and the valley run ends practically at the hotel door.

Highlight: the 6-seater Leppleskofel chairlift with heated premium seats and weather covers. As the highest cable car installation in East Tyrol, it takes you up to an altitude of 2,683 meters.
